This past week saw the return of Iain Wilsons party to Cairnton & Middle Blackhall and as usual they had a few fish with a combined catch of 5 Salmon, up to 15lb, 8 Grilse, all about the 3lb bracket, and 1 Sea Trout of 3lb. The fish landed were fairly spread throughout the beat on both sides of the river and quite a few others were lost here and there. Successful flies were small Gledswood Blue's, Tosh's and Hitched Sunrays. Water temperatures were varying between 56f to 62f all week with the water height starting off at 6" on Monday and by Saturday down to 3" on the Cairnton gauge. We could certainly do with a freshen up of the water now and today looks as though there's a few showers floating about. It looks to be fairly dry weather on Monday and Tuesday with a band of light rain coming  from the west midweek onwards. Winds will be North Westerly up to midweek then swinging back to South Westerly.

If you are thinking of making a trip to Aberdeenshire for some fishing with us this season please get in contact with Sarah as soon as possible and advise her of your requirements and she will put together some options for you. You can check availability yourself also on our website www.cairnton.co.uk and then let Sarah know specifically what dates you are interested in.
