Another good week for us with 5 Salmon and 10 Grilse landed with fairly equal sport coming from both banks and a few liced ones among them also. The first half of the week was more productive with 11 being landed and quite a lot being seen. Ross MacDonald got the week going on Monday with a fresh 6lb er from the Long pool on a Brown Pig and followed that up with a fresh 4lb Grilse from the Malt Steep on a Monkey.  John Webb had the largest from the Middle Blackhall side at 13lb from Invercannie on a Cascade tube and Ron Henderson had the largest from the Cairnton bank, also 13lb, from the Colonel on an Under Ghillie tube. Conditions changed a bit mid week with a rise of just over a foot by Wednesday night into Thursday morning and although the pools were in good fettle we only managed 4 for the last half of the week and only the very odd fish being seen. Cascades, Ally's and Park Shrimp patterns on tubes and doubles accounted for the rest of the fish.

This coming week is looking to be much cooler with winds coming from the North West and maybe the odd shower but plenty of cloud.

We have a few rods available across both banks over the next few weeks so please get booked in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Email Sarah with your fishing requests and she will do her best to accommodate you. sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk

    Cheers Brian

    Another Good Week
