Conditions over the past week couldn't have been much better for the beat with water heights starting off at 1' 4" on Monday and gradually dropping away as the week went on and after a few inches rise on Friday night it was back up to 1' 3" on Saturday with most days being cloudy apart from a couple of brighter afternoons. Paul Mason landed the largest at 8lb and was quite fresh from Floating Bank on an Aurora Cascade, the other 4 were Grilse between 3.5 to 4lb and a few others lost throughout the week. A few more coloured fish were appearing as the days went on with only the odd fresher fish being seen.

Another two anglers who fished this week were Benny Johansson and his friend Anders from Sweden who have been our first over seas fishermen for quite some time and after plenty of paperwork and covid testing it was good to see them back again. They had a great week on Deeside on various beats and managed to catch a couple of fish.

This coming week looks to be fairly dry and settled with high pressure dominating. We have had another rise of just over a foot so it should give us good fishing for most of the week.

With only 8 weeks of the season left, now would be a great time to get your last days fishing booked in. Check the rod availability on our website and then get in touch with Sarah and she will be able to sort everything out for you. sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk  www.cairnton.co.uk
