The expectations of the first fish of the new season are always pretty high after what feels like a long closed season and probably more so this year due to the horrendous gales that have swept the country causing devastation and the continued ups and downs from the pandemic, so it was very nice to have reasonable fishing conditions with some days seeming more like April, apart from being a bit gusty on occasions, but we did not have much to complain about. Both banks were covered extremely well by our anglers and although there were no fresh fish landed we did get a good number of Kelts on the usual spring patterns of Willie Gunn's and Black & Yellow tubes and the anglers left happy and wanting more so we look forward to seeing them back some time in the future.
This coming week looks to be dry and cold with some wintery snow showers with north west to westerly winds.
We have 3 rods available on Cairnton on Thursday and Friday of this coming week (10th & 11th Feb) and rods available each day on Middle Blackhall so please take a look at our website for details on how to book as well as availability for the rest of the season.
We look forward to welcoming you to Cairnton & Middle Blackhall this season.
Cheers Brian
