A great start to the 2023 season on Wednesday with Colin and David Craik from Somers Fishing Tackle hosting the first few days of the season. David did the honours of blessing the water and having the first cast then we were ready to get going. Although conditions were looking favourable, only kelts were landed on the 1st. Thursday's conditions were again looking really good for a fish and it was Steph Monaghan who got us off the mark this season. Steph landed a beautiful 8lber from the Lower Ferroch on a black & yellow monkey pattern. On Friday the river had risen a couple of feet but remained clear. Saturday the river was back down to 2' 8" and first time visitor to the Dee, Ghillie David Graham from the Spey landed a lovely 8lber in the Malt Steep on a black & yellow tube. A good start to our season.
Cheers Brian
