The last full week of September already and it was very Autumn like weather with a couple of frosts, some sunshine and a few heavy downpours mixed in. The start of the week was certainly more productive with catches and fish being seen but we had a small rise on Wednesday which seemed to shift a few fish about as it was much quieter the rest of the week, however we did end up with 7 salmon, 3 grilse and 2 sea trout . Mark Blair had the largest at 12lb. Flies this week were Flamethrowers, Ally's Shrimps and Black Ally's.
Water heights were 3" on Monday and by end of Saturday 1'. Water temperatures were jumping around quite a bit 45f to 53f.
A few rods available for the last full week of the season, email Sarah to get booked in before you pack everything away until 2025. Check availability on our website. www.cairnton.co.uk.
