Last week the fishing conditions were fairly good with the water height sitting at 4" on Monday and us gaining an inch or two of water and it dropping off again as the week went on. Water temperatures were between 56 to 61 Fahrenheit. Overhead was mixed with overcast and sunny spells and some rain showers.  Catches for the week were Eddie Beck managing his first ever salmon, an 8lber from the Cottage and abley netted by his friend James Madden who was on hand. James Madden landing two grilse of 4 and 5lb. Michael Richardson with a lovely fresh fish of 6lb from Rock Head. We also had other chances but as usual grilse on briefly before dropping off. Successful flies were Executioners and Stoat Tails

The week ahead looks fairly mixed again with some persistent rain on Monday and a mix the rest of the week with an odd shower, cloudy and brighter spells. The wind will be changing quite a bit with a westerly to start then swinging to the North then East as the week goes on.

we have some availability over the next few weeks so please check our website for full availability listing and the. Contact Sarah directly to book.

A really good week for us with 6 Salmon, 9 Grilse and 5 Sea Trout. Notable catches were Stuart Yeats landing 5 up to 12lb for his 3 days with 4 of them coming on Wednesday. Greg Stokes had a good week with 7 up to 10lb. Stephen Paterson had a couple for his few days and all anglers had offers here and there with some lost on top of that.  Flies doing the trick were Cascades, Flamethrowers and Shitey Whitey's. Conditions were really good with the height at 1' 11" on Monday and slowly falling as the week went on & water temperature at 55/57 Fahrenheit.

The week ahead looks to be a bit cooler for the first half then warming slightly with rain Wednesday/Thursday.

A lovely week for fishing and nice to see water in the river again with the height at 3" on Monday and rising to just over 1ft by Wednesday. Thursday/Friday it was steady at 11" but with overnight rain on Friday, Saturday was a bit of a wash out as the height was just over 3ft by end of play. Water temperatures ran fairly steady all week around 58/60 Fahrenheit. We ended up with 6 Salmon, 1 Grilse and 3 Sea trout. A good class of summer fish with 3 of them in the teens of pounds with the largest for Robert Bramman from Kelpie pool and was 15lb and surprisingly only the one grilse landed. Flies that were working were Sunrays, Willie Gunn’s and Cascades.  The week ahead looks to be a mixture of dry and wet at times with rain coming from a westerly direction.

Conditions this past week got better as the days went on. The water was minus a couple of inches on Monday and Tuesday but by Wednesday we were up 5 inches and by Saturday it was a lovely 10 inches on the gauge. Water temperatures were pretty steady 57/58Fahrenheit. We amazingly drew a blank for the week, after having such a dry spell for so long then getting a freshen up would normally bode very well but that's fishing.  The drone pictures i have been posting recently give a great look at all the pools different character and the lies etc.

Next week looks to be quite mixed with some thunder and lighting forecast the first few days then drying up a bit for later in the week .

Another warm week for us on Deeside but we did enjoy some sport with two sea trout and our first Grilse landed by Nigel Olsson in the Grey Mare on Tuesday, a nice chunky 3lb er on an Irish Shrimp pattern. The week ahead looks like some unsettled days with rain and temperatures dropping a bit.

This past week got off to a more promising start with the height on Monday sitting at minus 3.5 inches but it did rise a couple of inches with heavy overnight rain on Sunday and by Tuesday we were sitting on 1 inch above 0 inches but unfortunately the levels fell away as the days went on and by Saturday we were back down to minus 3.5 inches, also the morning water temperatures were back down to the lower 60's Fahrenheit. Pretty much most days were uncomfortably hot and bright with an occasional breeze. The weeks catch was two sea trout, one of 3lb for Bob Kenyon and another one of 3lb for Bernard Bimboes with a few others being lost.

The coming week looks like the heatwave is over, for the time being anyway, with a drop in temperatures and some rain floating about so fingers crossed.

Last week the fishing and weather conditions couldn't have been more difficult with very hot bright sunny days and a dropping river with a 63/64 Fahrenheit morning water temperatures and creeping up as the day went on so not the easiest fishing but we had the return of Ian Wilson and party for the week and they certainly cover the water but because of conditions this was mainly in the cooler hours, evenings and very early mornings until the heat of the day got going and they finished the week with a well earned 4 sea trout to 3lb and others being lost.

The week ahead looks as though we have a change of weather on the way with rain forecast for Monday and also some showers as the week goes on with more wet stuff forecast for Saturday so fingers crossed.

    Cheers Brian
